Winter is the ideal time to build your base fitness and there are few better ways than via cycling. Riverwalk is proud to be the home of several existing and planned cycling venues, offering scenic mountain biking along the Catawba River and Olympic-caliber facilities like the Novant Health BMX Supercross Track and the Giordana Velodrome — all available to beginner and elite athletes alike.
With a variety of programs and events, the Rock Hill Outdoor Center (RHOC) is the Southeast’s premier year-round sports venue and your answer to staying active this winter!
Novant Health Supercross BMX Track
One of the fastest growing areas in cycling — and Riverwalk’s newest facility — the Novant Health Supercross BMX Track opened to the public last August with FREE facility tours, cycling demos and track races.
The track is the only Olympic-caliber training facility on the East coast, and one of only a handful in the United States. With both an amateur and an elite supercross ramp, the venue has quickly become popular with riders of all ages and abilities.
The track is located at 1307 Riverwalk Parkway, Rock Hill, SC. Contact BMX Program Coordinator, Mike King at (803) 325-2630 or by email at email@example.com with questions.
Our USA Cycling-endorsed 250m world-class track hosts National and UCI caliber events while introducing the local community to the Olympic sport of track cycling through a variety of rider development and outreach programs. The Giordana Velodrome also serves as a gathering place for a variety of non cycling activities and special events.
This year-round facility offers programs for cyclists of all stages and ages, providing equipment and instruction. For the safety of all participants, a certification process is required of all cyclists, regardless of cycling ability, before riding on the track.
The track is located at 1000 Riverwalk Parkway, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Contact Cycling Coordinator, Thad Fischer at (803) 326-2453 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
