Welcome back our new series where we invite you to get to know some of the friendly faces that call our trails, greenways and front porches home!
This Halloween Kelly and Paul Pew celebrate two years in their Evan’s Coghill town home. Originally from Pickens, SC, the Pew’s moved to Riverwalk to be closer to Kelly’s job with the Rock Hill School District.
Aside from a 4 year old lab named Belle — named after their favorite band Lady Antebellum — the Pew’s are “empty nesters.” Their 29-year old daughter lives in Gwinnette County, GA with her family while their 24-year old son — getting married at the Brakefield this Fall — lives in Clemson, SC.
Paul has worked at United Parcel Service for the last 29.5 years as a feeder driver. His daily commute includes traveling between Greenville, SC and Greensboro, NC.
Kelly has spent the last 25 years as a public school educator, beginning as a high school English teacher and working her way to Superintendent. This August, marks Kelly’s third year as Superintendent of the Rock Hill School District.
Proud of her diverse school system, Kelly beamed about the new RHSD / City of Rock Hill partnership to bring students from the district’s new language immersion classes to the Novant Health BMX Supercross Track to welcome international races and their families.
Outside of work, the Pew’s enjoy spending time with family and friends, visiting the lake and the beach, boating and reading.
“We enjoy the opportunity for the many current activities as well as those to come! We love walking to shops and restaurants and appreciate the different types of homes. Not to mention the people who enjoy the neighborhood’s amenities.” Kelly notes, “Our neighbors are friendly and welcoming!”
Take it from the Pew’s, if you love excitement and outdoor activities, Riverwalk is the place to be!
