Top 5 Riverwalk Projects of 2014!

With an epic year of building and buying coming to a close — and an equally exciting year on the horizon — it’s a perfect time to look back over the various developments that have been taking place throughout our bustling community.


1. New Homes, Growing Neighborhoods

What began as 12 residential homes in 2011, Terrace Park is now a colorful entrance into a community that more than 100 families call home. This past October, the adjacent Herrons Ferry neighborhood celebrated their 60th — and final — home sale!

Our current residential phase, along the scenic Riverwalk trail and River District, is nearing completion. This emerging neighborhood includes 69 single family homes and 26 townhomes built around an active, outdoor lifestyle.

With our current phases quickly filling up, we are busy preparing the land for our award-winning builders — Saussy Burbank, Evans Coghill and Chesmar Homes — to begin pre-selling the 90 available lots of our next phase in early 2015!



2. Luxury Apartments Abound

Our first River District Building features oversized balconies, wood and stone detailing and a bike / kayak storage room encouraging you to take full advantage of the river and trails. The four story building features 24 well-appointed apartments situated along the river, most offering stunning views of the Catawba. One and two bedroom units range from 703 to 1,100 sf of spacious, open living and are designed with today’s lifestyle in mind — enjoy large kitchens with an island for eating and entertaining, roomy closets, oversized bathrooms and sun-drenched balconies.

An additional option for luxury apartment living, the Wise Apartments are rising quickly in the Town Center district of Riverwalk. This neighborhood will soon offer 150 new apartment options with spacious floorplans, upscale fixtures and finishes and an enviable clubhouse.


3. River District on the Rise

This past summer we announced the groundbreaking of three new business in the River District. With construction well underway on the first two buildings, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of two dozen apartments, 15,000 sf of office space and 11,000 sf of retail amenities.

In addition to the five-floor BNA building, a second 36,000 sf structure will be the future home of the Grapevine Wine Shop & Wine Bar, a local running group and a spa.


4. Business Park Expanding

2014 marked the completion of 1,000,000 sf of construction in our emerging business park area. Work has recently commenced on two additional facilities that will bring a total of 575,000 sf of new industrial operations.



5. Novant Health Supercross BMX Track Open!

In addition to miles of single-track mountain bike trails and our world-class Giordana Velodrome, Riverwalk welcomed it’s newest cycling facility this past August. The Novant Health Supercross BMX Track is poised to lead one of the fastest growing areas in cycling as the only Olympic-caliber training facility on the East coast and one of only a handful in the United States. This facility has both an amateur and an elite ramp and is designed for optimal viewing of fast-paced competition across hills, jumps and banked gravel turns!
